S/4HANA is the latest-generation ERP system, a successor to SAP ERP (SAP ECC, R/3). By 2027, all organizations using SAP ERP should switch to S/4HANA to avoid additional support costs.

Find the optimal migration path for your company

Migration from SAP ERP to S/4HANA is possible in various ways, and the choice of the optimal path depends on many factors, including the complexity of the used SAP environment, the type and scope of changes to be made, as well as – to what extent historical data from the old system is to be available in the new one.

Implementation approach (Greenfield)

Deploy the new system from scratch and start using the new S/4HANA features and technologies, with no historical data available. An additional data migration project is necessary to benefit from reverse analysis.

An optimal approach to transition to S/4HANA for companies that need a completely new set of ERP functions, significantly different from the current system.

Transformation approach (Selective Data Transition)

In this approach, we launch S/4HANA with new features, along with the availability of historical data. Other business and technology transformations (e.g., chart of accounts changes, group consolidation, migration to the cloud) can be performed as part of the same project.

In a transformational scenario, we use tools:

SAP BTC (SAP Business Transformation Center) – for SAP environments of medium and low complexity
CrystalBridge platform, which automates migration activities in large-scale and complex projects (Bluefield methodology)

Upgrade approach (Brownfield)

Convert existing SAP functionalities and data to the new S/4HANA technology platform using SAP Solution Manager. In this approach, migration means technical upgrade to S/4HANA and implementation of new functions is carried out in the subsequent steps.

The first step of this scenario is to implement Business Partner functionality. To streamline this project, we use a proprietary tool called All for One Business Partner Kit.
