Since March this year, Żywiec Brewery has been using SAP solutions. The implementation works were carried out together by Żywiec Group employees and Business Consulting Center (BCC).
The first stage of the project lasted from June to August 2001 and included analyses of all the business processes, aimed at identification of areas, where changes adapting the SAP system to the specific operation of Żywiec Brewery were needed. The analyses resulted in a detailed specification of the scope of the system implementation process. The actual implementation activities were carried out from September 2001 to the end of February / beginning of March. The implementation process also covered Bracki Cieszyn Brewery.

The following SAP functionalities are operational in Żywiec Brewery: financial accounting, treasury, fixed assets accounting, controlling, investments management, materials management, sales and distribution, production planning, quality management and plant maintenance.
Żywiec Brewery uses 4.6c version of SAP R/3 system, also including SAP industry solutions for the production of beverages – IS-Beverages. This is the first implementation of this solution in Poland. In comparison to the standard SAP system, IS-Beverages offers several additional advantages, supporting operation of the brewery in the following areas: returnable packaging management, transport planning and excise duty calculation.
