The purpose of an ERP SAP implementation project at Sokołów is to streamline its operational capabilities and centralize the management of the entire group. The project is carried out by the BCC company.
Sokołów is the first large producer from the Polish meat sector to choose ERP SAP system. The group consists of 7 processing plants, 3 stock-raising farms and several companies providing technical support, handling logistics and export.
"We expect that the SAP implementation, due to the improved financial control and the centralization of supply and sales, will allow us to significantly raise our effectiveness. That is why we have decided to embark on this project" – says Bogdan Biłas, IT Representative of the Board of Directors, as well as the company's Project Manager – "We have decided to go for the best IT solutions’ standards, hence we chose BCC – the company with an extensive experience in SAP implementations at multi-plant companies, including the ones in the food industry."
There are over 80 people involved in the implementation of the project launched in November 2009, including 25 BCC specialists. The new SAP system will be applied in the areas of finance and treasury, assets management, controlling, supply, and sales and distribution. An important part of the system is the SAP SEM-BCS – a solution for the creation of consolidated financial statements. The project also includes SAP Business Intelligence tools implementation and the integration of a SAP ERP with production processes management support system based on SAP PI platform (former SAP Exchange Infrastructure). The new system is scheduled to be operational in November 2009.
The implementation contract includes servers supply and SAP software licenses, as well as users support service (SAP application service) through the BCC's outsourcing center.
The Sokołów Group is yet another of several BCC's clients from the food industry. The company has provided the implementation and SAP outsourcing services for the following companies: Grupa Żywiec, Hortex, Kopernik, Ferrero, Kompania Piwowarska, Maspex Group, Nestle, Hochland, Strauss Cafe, Nordzucker, Pfeifer & Langen and Tchibo. In 2003 BCC earned the status of a SAP Poland Dedicated Partner for the food industry.
The Sokołów SA Group is one of the leaders in the meat sector in Poland. At present, the holding consists of 7 large modern production units located in: Sokołów Podlaski, Czyżewo, Koło, Jarosław, Tarnów, Dębica and Robaków near Poznań. Due to its elaborate distribution network including the company's outlets and the location of the production facilities, Sokołów's products are sold throughout Poland.
Export plays a big role for Sokołów – 25 to 30% of its products are sold to foreign markets, mostly in the European Union. You can find more at www.sokolow.pl
