The jewelery company Corundum from Wrocław, a producer of jewelry from Swarovski crystals, launched a new ERP system – SAP Business One in January this year. The implementation was carried out by the company 7milowy of the BCC Group.
The owners of the company decided to select SAP Business One – a solution from the world-class producer of ERP systems designed especially for small and medium enterprises. The implementation was entrusted to 7milowy, a provider specialized in services for the SME market. The start of work was preceded by a pre-implementation analysis, and the implementation itself took less than 60 project days. In early January, 2016, 25 users started working with SAP Business One.
"We believe that the investment in the modern IT infrastructure is necessary if the company wants to develop and strengthen its competitive advantage in the Polish market. SAP is the world's highest ERP standard, and at the same time, it is available to small and medium companies through SAP Business One solutions,” says Piotr Błoński, CEO of Corundum.
SAP Business One integrated key business areas of the company: finance and accounting, production, sales, purchasing, warehouses, banks, and complaints. Employees can create production orders as the so-called product trees of all finished products are modeled in the system. The knowledge of the quantity of a given raw material (silver, metal, precious stones) needed to manufacture a specific item of jewelry, and of the number of items manufactured, enables you to manage the purchasing of these raw materials and to accurately forecast the demand for them.
The retail sales was integrated with the central system via Positano, a proprietary application from 7milowy for managing points of sale. This POS solution allows you to quickly record the retail sales and to check inventory levels.
"SAP enables the integration and mapping of all business processes specific to our company, regardless of industry and business profile. At the same time, entering the SAP environment has a huge potential for us – it guarantees that regardless of our development plans, the system will be always adequate to the scale of the company’s operations ,” Maja Korpalska, Sales Manager and Project Manager at Corundum, explains the choice of the SAP technology.
