Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa (PTC), a telecom operator of Era and Heyah, is cutting down on its paper documents flow. Its employees have received access to their payroll data in the company’s portal.
Since last October all PTC employees, instead of getting a traditional paper payslip, can check their salaries on the corporate portal, created on the basis of SAP Enterprise Portal (SAP EP). The data are generated straight from mySAP HR system.
Giving access to payroll data caused further development of functionalities that PTC uses in its IT solutions, including mySAP HR and SAP EP, and the necessity to execute additional programming works. The implementation started at the beginning of May and was performed by PTC’s System Development Department and by BCC, closely cooperating with Personnel Policy Department.
The result is a unique solution that develops standard SAP possibilities. The component SAP Web Application Server of 6.20 version allows to generate sites in HTML format directly from SAP and publish them in the corporate portal. The project also resulted in creating functions that meet higher PTC requirements in terms of secure access to payroll data. The application of payslips has been integrated with LDAP data base which stores current information about system users. This helps to prevent unauthorised people from accessing the payroll data and ensures full security of the information flow.
Piotr Jeleniewski, project manager for PTC, estimates: ”The project executed with BCC allows to avoid costs of printing and distributing paper slips. We will economize on materials and postage costs. The information flow will become quicker and more reliable, which increases the employees’ satisfaction. We estimate that the expenditure on implementation works will pay for itself already after 5-6 months.”
