Under the contract, concluded in May, BCC's service organization has started providing the well-known producer and distributor of computer equipment with outsourcing services in SAP application service.
The application service includes service consultants providing Optimus' SAP users with remote assistance in the following modules: FI (financial accounting), CO (controlling), MM (materials management) and SD (sales and distribution).
Since its beginnings in 1988, Optimus SA was a leading Polish producer and distributor of IT equipment and a supplier of IT solutions. In 1994 Optimus was the first IT company to be listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange. After the change of the owner (sale of the portfolio by the previous owner, R. Kluska) the company was the first Polish public company to execute "division through separation", after which Internet operations were left with Onet.pl S.A. group and the whole technology business was transferred to the current Optimus SA. In January 2006 Optimus announced its new strategy for the years 2006-2008, which includes outsourcing of computer assembly in Zatra, Skierniewice, and transferring the company's seat from Nowy Sącz to Warsaw.
