A leading European supplier of solutions for settlement of financial transactions entrusted the hosting of its key system to the BCC’s outsourcing center.
PayUp, with its headquarters in Amsterdam, offers pay card settlements and transactions at terminals in outlets, as well as handling top ups of pre-paid cell phones. Due to starting its operations in Poland the company was searching for an outsourcing partner that would meet the highest requirements in IT infrastructure availability and reliability.
‘In our business the continual functioning of the systems that handle payments settlements and data security are absolute priorities. BCC’s assets are competent specialists, relevant infrastructure, including a spare data processing center in a separate location, as well as strict security procedures, based on ISO 27001 standards’, explains Cristina Ascenção, PayUp Group CTO.
Under the contract, concluded for 3 years, BCC specialists will be responsible for the installation and administration of the central transactional system at PayUp, managing payment settlements, in the basic and spare data center. The main task of BCC’s administrators is ensuring full availability and continual functioning of the transacting system and the data security.
Under the contract BCC also provides the IT environment (servers, the backup copy system, the LAN network) for office applications (eg. mail servers, remote access VPN systems, firewall).
Using a spare data center, which will store replicated systems and data, considerably enhances the solution’s safety and consequently the safety of the company’s business. The spare data processing center is always ready to use immediately and can take over managing transactions in case of a possible breakdown’, says Waldemar Sokołowski, BCC’s Outsourcing Director.
BCC has been providing the services of IT systems administration, maintenance and outsourcing since 1999. Over 60 clients are recipients of its services connected with the SAP systems. The contract with PayUp was the first not related to the SAP systems. In this way BCC is achieving the assumptions of its strategy, according to which it reaches out with its outsourcing offer also to clients from outside the SAP market.
