Thanks to the implementation of new SAP functionalities Maspex Wadowice Group can even more efficiently use various financial instruments. The solution implemented by BCC covered 14 units of GMW in Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.
Currently Maspex Wadowice Group groups eight Polish and nine foreign units (Central-Eastern Europe). The company’s assortment contains a few hundred products, the best known brands being: Tymbark, Kubuś, Ekland, Puchatek, DecoMorreno, Cremona, La Festa and Lubella. The group has SAP system implemented in 10 units in Poland and in 4 units abroad, every one of which is a separate enterprise as defined by the law on accountancy.
In order to increase the efficiency of finance management in the whole group, Maspex decided to develop its SAP system by functionalities that support managing financial instruments, e.g. those related to allocating finance surplus or obtaining external financing sources (like bank loans).
Under the project BCC started innovative SAP functionalities in FSCM (financial supply chain management), including: managing financial operations in money market, managing credits and loans, and a new SAP development prepared specially for Maspex that supports managing credit limits in banks. The project lasted from March to November 2006.
The new solutions support Maspex Wadowice Group managers in tasks such as taking decisions on renegotiating credit contracts, terms and manner of managing surplus or financing. ‘Now Maspex can easily and quickly monitor online the group’s finance. Finance managers have a full review of surpluses and deficits, a debt structure and investment portfolio. The data are available in the breakdown according to economic units, instruments and currencies’, said Rafał Gruszeczka, Deputy Finance Director.
