Works of Chemical Equipment Chemet SA, a producer of rail car tanks and LPG tanks for gases and liquefied gases, a leader in Central and Eastern Europe, will use SAP solutions.
Chemet SA, a producer of rail car tanks, LPG gas tanks and tanks for other liquefied gases, with the seat in Tarnowskie Góry, has started an implementation of mySAP ERP based on a preconfigured SPRINT Industral Production solution. Implementation works are carried out by a joint team of BCC and 7milowy consultants.
Wiktor Okopniarek, project manager for Chemet SA, says: ‘After in 2004 we finished a project aimed at diminishing operational costs, in 2005 SAP system implementation is a priority for us. We have decided to carry out a wide range of implementation, as we expect that by using SAP system we will further improve our efficiency on the scale of the whole company, especially in administration and logistic chain management functions. We expected the implementation company to provide us with an IT system as well as stable business processes based on best practices worked out during previous implementations. The possibility to use best practices was one of the key factors that made us choose the consulting company and the package SPRINT Discrete Manufacturing’.
The implementation, started in January 2005, is based on the preconfigured package SPRINT Discrete Manufacturing, offered by BCC and 7milowy within an initiative mySAP All-in-One for middle-sized businesses. SPRINT includes a range of funtionalities of SAP system in finance (financial accounting, fixed assets, treasury), controlling, material management, sales and distribution and personnel management. Moreover, within the implementation advanced functions mySAP ERP will be started. They will support processes specific for Chemet in the area of production planning and quality management.
In order to achieve maximum business advantages an integral part of the project is a complete overview of the organisational structure, carried out by the consultants from BCC and 7milowy simultaneously with the implementation works. The overview will result in suggestions of target organisational solutions in areas that are covered by the SAP implementation. Wiktor Okopniarek sums up: ‘We hope that thanks to such a two-way approach, in terms of both IT and business, we will work out an effective business model that will improve our competitive standing and will constitute a solid base for future development of Chemet’.
