BCC has completed the project of separating IT and telecommunications infrastructure from the corporate infrastructure, for companies belonging to EWE Poland holding that provide services in trade and distribution of natural gas and sale of electricity.
The aim of the project was to prepare and launch an optimal ICT environment, including the provision of modern ICT infrastructure that would ensure a rapid response to the changing business needs of companies of the EWE Group Poland as well as current needs of the users of IT systems in the companies.
BCC was chosen as the project contractor thanks to result of recent cooperation in hosting and administration of key IT systems to serve customers, including gas telemetry system and billing system. In the course of this cooperation we became convinced that BCC provides a high level of service and a restrictive security policy in the area of data privacy – said Mariusz Radosh, Director of IT & TC in EWE Poland.
As part of the projects completed in April 2014, BCC experts together with EWE employees from Poland and the headquarters in Germany developed a concept of operation for EWE Poland ICT environment, along with the IT and telecommunications infrastructure project plan (telephone exchange, video conference system). BCC has developed and built a LAN/WAN network, and also provided the necessary network hardware as well as software licenses for the workstations. BCC has also delivered a solution that streamlines office processes – BackOffice, which operates in the Software as a Service model.
As a result, companies of the EWE Group Poland use a fully functional ICT model. Furthermore, employees of EWE are supported by BCC Outsourcing Centre in their daily work with the IT systems, as part of IT helpdesk services. The central IT systems, including the telemetric and billing systems are hosted and managed at the BCC Data Centres.
EWE Group Poland belongs to the EWE AG holding, a multi-energy company with headquarters in Germany. Companies of the EWE Group Poland are among the leading specialists in providing and optimizing the use of new energy sources – mainly natural gas and electric energy.
