In Polkowice-based factory of car seats BCC has started a project of a wide development of SAP system. The main part of the project, key for the effectiveness of Sitech operations, is development of SAP logistic modules.
So far Sitech has been using SAP mainly in finance and controlling. The project, started in April, is aimed at building a comprehensive SAP solution that will support all the company’s main processes: from finance to supply to production, sale, human resources and payroll.
The enterprise involves implementing the following SAP modules: warehouse management (WM), production planning (PP), quality management (QM), sales and distribution (SD) and human resources (HR). It will also develop material management (MM) and the system’s module of finance. BCC is going to implement production cost controlling (CO-PC) and treasury (TR) modules.
The key customers of Sitech are car manufacturers, companies of Volkswagen group, including Skoda and Seat. An important part of the implementation is integrating the company’s SAP system with its customers’ logistic solutions. Interfaces will be built on the basis of SAP XI (SAP Exchange Infrastructure), a tool of SAP NetWeaver group. This will help improve and increase the safety of cooperation with the company’s partners.
Sebastian Lotz, project manager for Sitech, comments: ”For improving our company’s efficiency logistic processes are of vital importance. Implementing SAP in its full scope of logistics, from ordering components to advanced production planning in all sections and sale and integration with customers – all this will ensure a new quality in company management. SAP solutions, which previously were used in part only, after implementation will cover all the vital areas of company’s operations that affect our efficiency”.
Sitech has been supported by BCC in SAP system development since 2000. ”We have chosen BCC for the present project, which is so important for us, as we highly value our cooperation so far. Moreover, its experience in implementations of advanced SAP tools supporting logistic processes and production planning was also an advantage”, adds Sebastian Lotz.
Sitech is planning to start using new SAP logistic and financial solutions in November 2007, and those in quality management and human resources – in January 2008.
Sitech sp. z o.o., based in Polkowice, is a manufacturer of car seats. The factory, owned by Volkswagen group, operates in Special Economic Zone of Legnica and is one of the largest investments in automotive industry in Lower Silesia. It employs over 1,300 people.
