Mennica Panstwowa SA (Polish State Mint) has begun to implement integrated information system – SAP R/3. The project is led by Business Consulting Center (BCC).
The implementation involves the following modules: FI – financial accounting, TR-CM – Treasury, FI-AA – fixed assets accounting, CO – controlling, MM – materials management, SD – sales and distribution and PP – production planning.
Productive start of financial modules, materials management, sales and distribution modules is planned for January 2002. Mr. Dariusz Kucel, Member of the Board and Financial Director of Mennica Panstwowa SA justified the choice of system in the following words: "The main reason for choosing the SAP R/3 system was its full integrity, assuring a smooth flow of information in the real time at all the levels of the company and between its separate divisions".
Warsaw State Mint is one oldest Polish companies – its beginning is connected with the reform of monetary system in 1764. Todays Mint is engaged not only in strictly minting production (coins, medals, decorations, seals, date markers), but also in precious metal processing for the needs of optics and electronics, in the production of gold and platinum paints for glass and porcelain decoration, of half-finished products for jewellers trade and of laboratory equipment.
