SAP implementation in Leżajsk brewery, owned by Żywiec group, is part of a complex project that will enable all units of the Group to function according to one business and IT model. An implementation partner during the whole project is BCC.
After successful completion of the works in breweries Żywiec, Bracki Cieszyn (2002) and in a trade-marketing company Grupa Handlowa (2003), the range of the project was expanded onto further plants.
In comparison with earlier SAP implementations in Żywiec group the project in Leżajsk was the most complex in formal and legal terms. Simultaneously with implementing new IT solutions a legal consolidation of Leżajsk SA and Żywiec Brewery SA was executed; now they form one company Żywiec Group SA. That is why the terms of all the works, like communication of the brewery with business partners (suppliers and customers) and detailed IT solutions had to be adjusted to the execution of the superior project.
‘During legal merger of the companies SAP implementation was used to standardize procedures in all breweries. Thanks to such method the total time and costs were substantially reduced. The works were completed below the estimated budget which confirms the fact that SAP implementations, when they have been well prepared in terms of business and IT, are an efficient way to introduce organizational changes‘, said Jacek Brdak, IT Manager SAP in Żywiec Group.
Leżajsk started using SAP at the beginning of 2004, in a wide range of modules. The implementation covered: FI – financial accounting, FI-AA – fixed assets, TR – treasury, CO – controlling, IM – investment management, MM – material management, PP – production planning, QM – quality management, PM – plant maintenance and SD – sales and distribution.
Now the next stage of works is starting: BCC is going to support IT department of Żywiec group during a corporate SAP solution implementation in next breweries: Warka and Elbrewery in Elbląg.
