The service was created to cater for international concerns’ growing interest in offshoring ABAP programming services in Central Europe. The service is also targeted at the largest Polish enterprises with developed SAP systems.
ABAP programming services mean preparing in client’s SAP system non-standard solutions that meet their characteristic needs. Its characteristics is that ABAP developments are created by BCC programmers on the basis of a ready concept either provided by the client or prepared with the assistance of an application development consultant from BCC. BCC programmers usually execute works on a remote basis. All this helps to limit costs and shorten the time of works.
Within ABAP Development Center BCC ensures quick reaction time (e.g. of assistance in unexpected situations related to project staffing), simple and clear settlement terms and competitive price in return for standardized, high-quality service.
ABAP Development Center proves itself in cooperation with clients who expect flexibility in meeting changeable internal needs for programming works, caused by:
- a wide range of SAP functions in use
- planning long-term tasks (e.g. overviews)
- optimizing the code
- adjusting to a new SAP version (upgrade)
- a change in technologies used (e.g migration to ALV, smartforms, BSP etc.)
- developing or including a new system of authorizations
A frequent cause is also an urgent need for development works due to:
- identifying large, unplanned developments in projects in progress (a common situation related to underestimating the budget or changes in the schedule)
- temporary lack of internal programmers (holiday, illness, staff changes)
Typical tasks performed by ABAP Development Center are: creating SAPscripts and Smartforms; developing existing objects and transactions; preparing small developments of SAP standard, its reports or interfaces.
‘There is quite an interest in ABAP programming services on request among concerns of mature European markets, like Scandinavian, Dutch, German or British. Those companies more and more willingly use the so-called nearshoring in Central Europe due to its cultural and geographical closeness. Central Europe is becoming more and more popular also because offshoring services in more distant regions are getting more and more expensive‘, says Grzegorz Malewski, BCC Business Development Manager in the area of corporate solutions and integration.
Among the first BCC’s clients in ABAP Development Center are Dutch and Finnish companies. ‘We expect that the new service will also attract Polish companies. We target our offer in this area at the largest Polish enterprises that have the most complex SAP installations’, adds Grzegorz Malewski.
